BioCule produces and sells instruments and single use gel cards for Two-Dimensional Electrophoresis of nucleic acids.

BioCule's Two-Dimensional Electrophoresis of nucleic acids can be used for:

Sample preparation for microarray analysis

Normalisation of nucleic acid samples

Library preparation for next-generation sequencing

Synthesis and handling of genomic and transcriptomic libraries

Genomic scale amplification

Detection of DNA damage either in vivo or in biobank samples.

Prototype of the μ4™ electrophoresis system completed.

Scientists at BioCule have completed the prototype of a micogel electrophoresis instrument called μ4™. The μ4™ instrument completes two-dimensional electrophoresis in 10 minutes, allowing separation between single-stranded and double-stranded DNA fractions in complex samples. Furthermore, the instrument can conveniently be used to analyse DNA in only 4 minutes, using one dimension electrophoresis.
